POP princess Britney Spears has given birth to a baby boy.
Britney, 23, and husband Kevin Federline, 27, shared the news with fans on her website yesterday.
London Preston or Preston Michael are hot tips for the child's name, but the proud parents are not giving away any clues.
"We are ecstatic to announce the birth of our son!" they said.
"Everyone is happy, healthy and doing wonderful. Thank you all for your love and well wishes!! Love Britney & Kevin."
A picture shows the couple kissing in front of a sign declaring "It's a boy!" with blue balloons in the background.
The singer underwent a Caesarean at Santa Monica's UCLA Medical Centre, near Los Angeles, according to the magazine US Weekly and television show Access Hollywood. Last month, Britney said: "I have a feeling I'm going to have an operation. I don't know why.
"My mum said giving birth was the most excruciating thing she's ever gone through in her life. So if a Caesarean doesn't happen, I'll be like, 'Epidural, please'."
The Toxic star, who has sold more than 60m albums, has made no secret of her wish to start a family and has said she can see herself as a mum.
