ALLEN HALL (Special Effects Supervisor) shared the 2006 Academy Award for his work on “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest,” along with colleagues John Knoll, Charles Gibson and Hal Hickel. Hall also won an Oscar for his groundbreaking work on Robert Zemeckis' “Forrest Gump,” and was nominated for Ron Howard's “Backdraft” and Ron Underwood's “Mighty Joe Young.” “Forrest Gump” also won Hall a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Award, with “Backdraft” receiving a nomination.
Hall's numerous credits as special effects coordinator or supervisor have included such notable films as “Popeye,” “Top Gun,” “The Untouchables,” “Scrooged,” “Dead Poets Society,” “Avalon,” “For the Boys,” “Cutthroat Island,” “The Long Kiss Goodnight,” “Contact,” “Babe: Pig in the City,” “U-571,” “Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Road to Perdition,” “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,” “Constantine” and “Elizabethtown.”
