Beer drinkers rejoice: Your favorite beverage may be healthier than you think. For years, wine drinkers were delivered without guilt, reveling in the news that red wine may help protect against heart disease. Recent research shows that beer can be good for what ails you, reduce the risk for broken bones to help ward off diabetes and mental decline. It can even increase longevity, a large study suggests.
However, the key to tap into the benefits of beer is moderation, which means that only one of 12 oz of beer a day for women and two men. 1. Stronger Bones
Beer contains high levels of silicon, which is related to bone health.
